Wild Wonderful Florida
June 1 – 4
Rated as one of the top five paddles in Florida, the exceptionally scenic Ocklawaha River in Central Florida abounds in wildlife. We hope to see abundant alligators, otters, birds, turtles and fish as we kayak this crystal clear river. The most unique attraction of all is several troops of wild Rhesus monkeys that roam freely in the subtropical vegetation of this wildlife refuge! Legend has it that they are descendants of escapees from Tarzan films shot in the Silver Springs area. On our second day we will float by snorkeling, tubing or paddling down the beautiful and pristine Ichetucknee River and visit the natural history museum at the Silver River State Park. Lodging will be shared in brand new, very modern cabins in the state park. Several hiking trails are also available for your enjoyment. Some previous paddling experience is desirable.
Limited to 10 people, ages 8 and up.
Eastern Sierra Photo Safari
With Tom and Pat Cory
Saturday, Oct. 10 – Friday, Oct. 16
Join us in the magnificent Sierra Nevada Mountains of Eastern California where Ansel Adams made many of his most memorable images. From our accommodations in Mammoth Lakes, we’ll photograph ancient bristlecone pine forests, the unique tufa towers at Mono Lake, the ghost town of Bodie, alpine lakes and majestic mountains. Mid-October typically finds aspens turning gold adding to the exceptional natural beauty. Photographers should be in good physical shape since much of this magnificent landscape is over 9,000 feet and walking is required to fully appreciate the area.
Scenic City Photo Safari
November 6 – 8
Focus your lens on the “Scenic City” during an exciting weekend workshop for film or digital photographers of all levels. Nature photographers Tom and Pat Cory will present lectures on how to photograph specific subjects with hands-on instruction in the field. Begin at the Tennessee Aquarium and capture sharks, butterflies, penguins, fish and other critters on film. Snap images of Chattanooga’s beautiful urban riverfront and get close-ups of animals at the Chattanooga Zoo. Natural attractions include streams and waterfalls at a private reserve with an opportunity to create Civil War portraits in an historical setting. Includes individual hands-on instruction in the field, box lunch, dinner, picnic brunch, snacks and beverages.
